Connect what you invest, what you do, and the results you want to achieve.
Bring your program’s plan into focus with the customizable Logic Model template from the International Development Extension Agency (IDEA). This one-page visual framework helps you organize your resources, activities, participants, and intended results into a connected picture of how your program is expected to work.
Whether you are developing a new initiative or reviewing an existing program, use this template to move beyond a list of activities and clarify the changes you hope to achieve.
Map the essential elements of your program:
Situation, priorities, and inputs: Identify the context for your work, establish your priorities, and outline what you will invest.
Activities and participation: Describe what your program will do and who it will reach within the model’s Outputs section.
Results over time: Connect short-term learning with medium-term action and the long-term changes in conditions your program aims to support.
Assumptions, external factors, and evaluation: Record the assumptions and outside influences that may affect your program, with an evaluation reminder covering focus, data collection, analysis and interpretation, and reporting.
Bring it into a team planning workshop, use it to organize your thinking before drafting a proposal, or share your completed model with partners and supporters. Put it to work in agricultural development, food security, ministry, education, or other community-focused initiatives.
